Byrne letter: Country needs help
Consider a way to help make our country’s government operate with more honesty and integrity and not be malfunctioning, like it is today, with each political party hating and mistrusting each other:
The report is that 90 percent of the wealth in our country is owned and controlled by 30 (plus or minus) citizens of this country. This should not be allowed. There should be a law limiting the wealth of any individual, family or company from owning or controlling more than $25 million. Any wealth above this figure should go back into the U.S. Treasury to help make our country financially solvent again.
With our country financially solvent, these finances could be used: to maintain and repair interstate road and bridge systems; ensure our drinking water is safe and our future water supply is secure; keep our electrical grid functioning well; make our forests and open areas environmentally cared for; to help our education system and to purify our judicial system. There are many other areas besides these that need help or need to be changed, that would benefit us all.
I hope with this coming election our country will be blessed with elected officials that will have intelligence, honesty and integrity.
Jim Byrne, Boise
