Stredder letter: Unleashed dogs

I love my dog, but I’m infuriated by the ones running loose in my neighborhood. We have lived in West Boise for 38 years, and the dog problem has gotten out of control.

The Idaho Humane Shelter is no help, especially for seniors. The last time I complained, I was told to “to catch the dog and cage it, so an officer can pick up.” Seriously? Not only are dogs off leash routinely, there’s a steady stream of adults and kids strolling the neighborhood with their dogs unfettered all day long.

Furthermore, the only ones I’ve seen picking up the poop they leave are visibly older folks. Now I read a fellow senior has been brutally attacked by two renegade dogs in her Borah neighborhood while she was walking her own dog on a leash. Here is what I want to know: I am still paying property taxes, including school bond expenditures, so what has happened to enforcing leash laws in Ada County?
