Aragon letter: Concealed carry
The State Affairs Committee passed SB1389 March 17 with a majority of representatives (and has since passed the full Senate and House) supporting this “permitless” conceal carry bill. I fail to understand the mindset of supporters who believe that this type of legislation will “gradually” erode their Second Amendment rights. Neither do I see the logic in making more guns accessible to more people in more places. Furthermore, concealed weapons deprive citizens of having a choice as to vacate an area or not — leaving us more exposed to potential injury by firearms. Sadly, such thinking only serves to threaten the safety of Idahoans.
