Bejsovec letter: Presidential candidates
We certainly have an array of candidates to choose from: a fanatic, an actress, a super-egotist, a religious hazard, a chameleon and an unknown. As is usual, we have to pick the least destructive of the bunch.
I hope the general election brings a Democrat into the White House. Another round or Republicans will bring two more wars, a depression, loss of women’s rights, a theocracy, further non-governing, loss of jobs and further diminishing of the middle class.
The middle class (remember them?) are the only ones who care about democracy. The rich are only concerned about power, and the poor are consumed about putting beans on the table and a sturdy cardboard over their heads. The middle class are the people who create wealth through their labors and inventiveness.
On another topic, judging by the traffic lanes lost recently due to construction, elimination of one-way streets, and new bicycle lanes where a bicycle has never been seen, I’d say ACHD and the city hate cars and drivers, and want them to take their business elsewhere. New York parking values hardly help.
