Shutz letter: Fracking

After hearing the concerns of several Eagle, Idaho, residents relating to drilling fracking wells in Idaho, I suggest that Gov. Butch Otter invite Alta Mesa to drill a few fracking wells within 200 feet of his home in Star.

This would prove to his constituents that fracking is as safe and sane as he and the oil people claim. Also, at the same time, Otter could assure the people of Idaho that he and Lt. Gov. Brad Little are in no way realizing any monetary rewards for letting big oil in. I feel if he did ban fracking wells from Idaho, (as Gov. Cuomo did for his State of New York), the governor would gain the love and respect of all of Idaho, with the exception of those in big oil’s pocket.

I’m an owner of a small acreage Gov. Otter leased to Alta Mesa.
