Randell letter: Public lands
Concerning the proposed Idaho state government’s takeover of public lands, here’s a few key questions.
Why are two bills before our state Legislature right now that sells out every American’s right to their public lands in Idaho?
Why would most of our state legislators who run livestock on federal land for under $2 a month, cow and calf, less for sheep, want to pay almost $7 on state lands?
Why have state legislators continued to cut funds for Idaho Fish and Game, wildlife and state wild lands?
Why are there “State Land No Trespassing” signs posted throughout the state?
Why would any Idahoan be interested in selling out Americans’ legacy to keep and enjoy public lands in our state, or any state?
Everyone that enjoys public lands should tell our state representatives now to “Vote No” on bills HB 582 and HB 586 and tell Ted Cruz, Bundy supporters, and the 1 Percent to take a hike. It’s our public lands.
It’s real folks. If we don’t, we could be saying hello to fences, cameras and signs.
Just say no to handing over your public lands and wildlife to a very unsure future. Don’t wait.
