After reading Bill Dentzer’s article regarding Rep. Kelley Packer and Wayne Hoffman’s Idaho Freedom Foundation in the Feb. 28 Statesman, I have a few observations.
First, to borrow from a phrase frequently attributed to a former president, if Packer can’t stand the heat, she really needs to get out of the kitchen. I realize this is simply reinforcement of what Hoffman is quoted saying in the last paragraph of the piece, but it is well worth repeating.
Second, to Dentzer, there is no right, especially in politics, not be be offended. Third, to both Dentzer and Packer, who are these anonymous offended souls and critics you speak of? Finally, to Dentzer, it seems to me the Fourth Estate owes us a bit more diligence in its reporting.
