Logsdon letter: History

A fascinating letter by Maryann Shuker. I am at a loss as to where Shuker gets her information. No, a majority of Americans do not want gun control, an increased minimum wage, Add the Words, Medicare for the persons in the insurance gap, nor hands off Planned Parenthood. You blame the religious right but admit you do not know anyone who regularly attends church. Did you miss history class when it was explained that our forefathers left Europe seeking religious freedom? I believe that information is still in current history books. Yes, Shuker, America is a Judea-Christian nation. And yes, our elected representatives do listen to their constituents when they delay or block votes on unacceptable issues. Maybe you need to remove the blinders and acknowledge that Idaho is a conservative state and our country, as a whole, is right leaning. Maybe broadening your view away from CNN and MSNBC will help you understand the real world.

William R. Logdson Sr., Boise
