Jones letter: Political candidates
When I submit a letter to the Statesman, I am well aware no reader gives a hoot about my opinion unless it happens to agree with their own political views. That someone may be upset with my support of Hillary Clinton is a perfect example of someone I would never attempt to engage in a reasoned debate about issues. All of their comments about Hillary typically come straight from Fox News and the Republican Party playbook.
My decision to support Hillary was based solely on a comparison between her and the comical group of Republican candidates now engaging in the mud fights our media incorrectly describe as debates. I could vote for John Kasich, but he is too moderate for the radical base of the Republican Party. He has the potential to become a great president, but I would still vote for Hillary. Kasich would have no more success than present leadership trying to herd the right-wing extremists that now dominate his party.
