Stevens letter: Government overreach

For a state that screams “government overreach” every time the federal government makes any new laws, it is shocking how quickly the Idaho Legislature jumped into the overreach game by passing a law that no city in Idaho can ban plastic bags. Who is more important in Idaho, a company that produces polluting, never degrading products that blow around on our streets and clog our streams, or the independence of cities that want to eliminate these polluting objects from their streets and streams? Government overreach wins again. Next they will outlaw our use of our own reusable bags.
