Platts letter: Fire management

A recently released report by climate scientist William Rudiman and supported by many other climate scientists says that early man started global warming. Forests were burned off to allow early agriculture. According to them, they have irrefutable proof through ice cores and other research.

Today we continue to burn off our forests at a cost of billions of dollars including firefighting, loss of renewable resources, loss of private property, damage to the environment including erosion. Our cities and towns are inundated with smoke.

We incinerate countless critters — to improve their habitat?

But worst of all is the human lives lost.

This government “fire management” program has been a costly and outrageous experiment.

It is apparent that the proponents and defenders of this plan fear logging trucks more than global warming.
