Hammer letter: Downtown traffic

I have now been working in the downtown area for eight years. On a daily basis I about get hit by a car running a red light or turning into a crosswalk. I think that those cameras installed in the lights downtown, especially on 11th between Front and Grove, could really get the city some revenue. We all know the city could use more revenue. It appears to me that nothing will be done until someone is killed. There was over $300,000 spent to remove homeless, but we can’t spare an officer or two in the downtown area at high-traffic times to get more revenue to recoup some costs?
