Geraghty letter: Statesman headline
I’m very disappointed that Wednesday’s headline (Jan. 13) made it past the editing process. “Obama tries to be positive in farewell” implies a lot of things that don’t belong in a headline. He didn’t “try” to be positive, he was positive, and made a strong case for the rest of us to hold a positive view. He made this address in the midst of campaign rhetoric that is mostly fear mongering and deserves a rational response. Secondly, with most of a year left in his term, this is not a farewell. To suggest that his time in office is over is to undermine important work going on all over the world. Keep the opinions on the opinion page.
