De la Motte letter: Elk herds
Does Chuck Mark (Guest Opinion, Jan. 10) protect wilderness by letting Idaho Fish and Game destroy it? Another proposed helicopter “study” of “declining” elk herds is the antithesis of the letter and spirit of the Wilderness Act.
Let’s cut to the chase. This looks and smells like another excuse to beat up on the wolves. A safer and more cost-effective study would use drones to count wolf kills (elk carcasses) in the Frank Church Wilderness.
What’s causing this Forest Service/Fish and Game wilderness wolf vendetta? It must be another epidemic of elk hunter lobophobia.
