The outrage about the higher fees on hybrids and all electric cars and the story on our Republican representatives running unopposed have the same roots .
Our state lawmakers no longer have to worry about doing what is right for the population as a whole . When the trucking association complained the bridges in this state would not carry the larger loads, our legislators looked around for a source of new revenue. Now anyone who travels on the interstate highways knows who causes the major amount of damage and yet the ton mile tax never came up. They would not want to anger their big money base and besides the people here always vote for them no matter how much it is against their own interest.
