Cahoon letter: Homosexuality

In response to the Ralph Nielson letter (Dec. 29) concerning homosexuality. Homosexuals do choose to be gay. Consider the evidence.

In Stalin’s Soviet Union there were far more Christians and Jews slaughtered than gays. In Adolph Hitler’s Germany there were millions and millions of Jews and thousands of Christians slaughtered. Far, far more than any in the gay community.

Gay men and women and heterosexual men and women in religious and nonreligious homes both commit suicide due to mental illness or injury. You say gay men and women never turn from being gay to the straight lifestyle. You know that’s not true. I also agree, that we have absolute secular and religious evidence that being gay is a deliberate choice.

By the way, no religion anywhere has ever saved a man from God’s wrath. Only faith in Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross can do that. Christ died for the sinner not the righteous. God bless you my friend.
