Dennis Fuller writes that the “prestigious” Society for Mathematical Calculation (SCM) published a paper “blistering” climate research. I Googled the SCM finding that the French Mathematical Society is the professional society of French mathematicians since 1872. Fuller’s SCM is a consulting firm run by Dr. Bernard Beauzamy. He is the lead author on the paper. It is not known if it was peer reviewed.
Peer review is critical to science — the best man devised method for advancing human knowledge. There are skeptics, like Fuller, who believe there is a scientific conspiracy pushing climate change. I have a MS degree. Experience from that training and working with scientists during my career has shown me that getting scientists to agree is not easy. They are competitive and demand rigor from other scientists. Peer review is about experts in the same field scrutinizing methods and conclusions to ensure research veracity. Being proven wrong or being shown to falsify data in a scientific publication is a great humiliation to a scientist
Fuller ends his letter saying that the “Climate Taliban” will come after the SCM. He should welcome criticism from experts. That is how science works.
