Brother letter: Butch Otter

Regarding Gov. Butch Otter’s PAC. Long ago and far away, when I was young, we had a somewhat less delicate way of describing obfuscating, sleight-of-hand, political shenanigans.

This is a pretty good example of the rhetoric of the Johnson Era when we were told the U.S. needed to engage in “police action” to contain the “communist threat” to our way of life. We all know how that turned out.

Then came the Bush Era when we were told we needed to go after Saddam Hussein because he was a mastermind of 9/11 and, by the way, had weapons of mass destruction, and was an imminent threat to the United States. This is a gift that keeps on giving to this day.

While Otter is very small stuff compared to the previously mentioned gentlemen, he was engaged in many costly, dumb endeavors. The education network mess, the prison mess, the deal to import more nuclear waste mess, the super truck loads, ad infinitum, ad nauseaum.
