Allsup letter: Cafeteria worker
I can’t believe that the Pocatello School District had the nerve to fire employee Dalene Bowden for giving a 12-year-old child a food tray because she was hungry. What is wrong with people? Sure, the school district offers the lunch program but what good is it if the parent isn't applying for it? This child was hungry and Dalene did the right thing by giving this child a food tray. Shame on District 25 from Pocatello for even thinking about firing Dalene. Her job should be reinstated immediately with a personal letter of apology from Susan Petit. I hope Susan never sees the face of hunger.
Update: Bowden was offered her job back within the district but has declined.
