Bradley letter: Politics

Based on the letters published on Dec. 22 the anti-everything GOP base is alive and well in the Treasure Valley. You should be very proud of Trump, your front runner. Loud mouthed, crude, name calling, usually wrong and consistently a liar. Maybe Putin would like to be his VP. But then, because of his bromance with your no. 2 candidate Cruz, he wants to pick him. Speaking of Cruz, who is universally disliked by every other Senator, both Democrat and Republican, and couldn’t even get second on a rider to a bill. His only claim to fame is being able to read Green Eggs and Ham on the floor of the Senate. That’s a strong presidential qualification. Besides being anti-Muslim, anti-Hispanic, anti-women’s choice and health, anti-Fed, and pro-evangelical, he’s a prince of a guy.

Calling our president a communist or a Muslim or a Kenyan is childish to say the least but is typical of the old white guy portion of the Republican Party that is afraid of the changing demographic. These are the same people who didn’t want Jews or Irish or Italians or Blacks to be included as equals. Bigotry and racism never die.
