Cooke letter: Obama is weak

After reading two articles I know all I need to know about how weak our current president is and what is most important to him. One article touted how our young women may soon have to sign up with the Selective Service on their 18th birthday all in the name of “gender equality.” A column in the Dec. 13 paper by Dana Milbank from The Washington Post (not a conservative writer by any stretch) pointed at the weakness of our current administration in dealing with the cancer of the Islamic State. The article pointed out the emptiness of the tough talk by our president and his team as they talk about defeating ISIS but are unwilling to actually do anything of substance about it. I know many out there will say we don’t want to send our young men into harm’s way. While I understand this sentiment as I think about the prospect of my own boys eventually being drawn into this fight, I also realize that if the weakness exhibited by our current president continues, my girls may also end up in this fight someday. I can only hope for better leadership in the years ahead.
