Martin letter: Random thoughts
Big jets flying big shots to environmental summits? Really. How much pollution did that create? Environmentalists own houses, cars, manufactured things. What have they given up?
Want a fair shake for Native Americans? Quit jawing. Give the tribe your land.
Underground houses take less energy. Choose 100 percent tax break or worry about where to store future radioactive material. Divide dump sites among states of those who voted nuclear.
“Taking guns away?” Didn’t this president swear to uphold the Constitution? Doesn’t it guarantee that the government will not infringe on the people’s right to bear arms? Impeach him if he doesn’t get his nose out of it. (We’ve been supplying arms overseas. Has it come home to roost? Are we going to “stop guns” just on our own shores?) Require every gun owner to pass free course and exam. We have freedom to travel but don’t turn just anybody loose with a car. Why then with a gun?
Quit calling Social Security an entitlement program. People invested. “Borrowing” for other programs depleted a good idea and cheated investors. Take it out of the wages of those responsible for the theft.
