Landers letter: Christmas and peace
We are so fortunate in America, yet we can’t see it, and we are quick to blame or make excuses for everything, and it reflects in society and politics, and you wonder where our young pick all this up from. Christmas is upon us and yet there is no peace because we can’t agree to disagree and we have created mountains out of molehills because we are stubborn and refuse to unite on a single issue. America used to set an example, but no more, because you read online what they are saying and it is our own undoing because we don’t listen and then we make excuses why we don’t because we have an excuse for everything and everyone. Where is the truth hiding and who needs accountability or credibility, because lying is easier. And what is transparency when you can cover up the truth, but the real problem we make deception and lying OK. America at least used to represent something, but no more. Instead tell the people what they want to hear and pander to special interest groups and you’ll win every time, and the truth falls through the cracks and gets buried.
