Layne letter: Gun laws

We live in a dangerous world. Who can deny that? There are those among us who, if given a chance, are willing to bring us harm, or even death, and they don’t walk around with their evil intentions tattooed on their foreheads. And to the demonstrators in the streets advocating “kill a cop” — don’t you think that an apology is in order to the law enforcement officers who are out there putting themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe? If you really want to advance your cause, that would be a very good place to start!

And to those advocating stricter gun laws, consider this: Rather than disarming how about the mandatory arming of someone(s) where large crowds are gathering rather than be like sitting ducks waiting to be mowed down?

I personally will never give up my right to defend myself and my family from any lunatic who’s wandering through my neighborhood, on the run, armed and ready to kill on sight, anyone who gets in his way. The recent incident in San Bernardino is a good example. If this is what our leaders in Washington are advocating, I am sorry for them.
