Fuller letter: Refugees

Wendy Olson’s comment is emblematic of the kind of thinking that makes the traditional charitable American view of immigration seem like a fool’s errand. However, given she is a Democrat, she is beholding to Barack Obama and required to support his plan to force problematic immigration on us.

We like and need immigrants. Immigration is our tradition. It is part of who we are. Anything that interferes with our choice to extend that privilege to other people who want to become American is a very bad thing. It is un-American. Barack Obama’s plan to force us to accept groups does just that.

Our Constitution is not a suicide pact. We do not have to accept anyone. We choose to accept freedom-loving people; people who like what they see in America and Americans. However, at this point today, in view of who Barack Hussein Obama is, and his end game, we Americans feel genuinely and wholly unsafe. The Democrat Party’s assault on us and our American culture is part of why Americans feel unsafe — and angry. We despise Barack Obama and others who think like him for it.
