Wheeler letter: Refugees
It seems we had the same problem during World War II. How many years did we turn our backs on the Jews before we finally started doing the right thing? What if we welcomed the Muslims, treated them with a little less disdain, gave them some opportunities to make a life here, showed them that Christians were capable of treating people fairly? Maybe if they were treated decently they wouldn’t be running off to ISIS. You think treating all Muslims like dirt will make you safer? It won’t.
I have an uncle who was among those entering the concentration camps at the end of the war. Now you say you would support sending these men, women and children back where they came from. Shame on you.
