Blevins letter: Presidential candidates

The 2016 campaign for president of the United States has bordered on the absurd with the likes of Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson leading the pack for the Republicans and Hillary Clinton doing the same for the Democrats. GOP voters have been overwhelmed by the Washington outsider pitches of Trump and Carson. Their campaigns are a joke, and a more apt description of these two men would be out of their league, especially when it comes to understanding foreign policy and national security matters. On the other hand, the Dem voters are fixated on electing a woman to our nation’s highest office instead of Clinton’s true colors, i.e., she’ll say or do anything to break the “glass ceiling” of presidential politics. Who do I suggest as alternatives? I’m glad you asked. I suggest the GOP draft Mitt Romney and the Dems draft Joe Biden as their standard bearers. These two gentlemen are lofty statesmen representing America’s best compared to the current frontrunners of both parties.
