Reed letter: TV advertising
I am in my 90th year on this Earth and there is little I can do for entertainment, so I watch a lot of TV. I am convinced that advertisers today build ads for a 5-year-old mentality. I will give some examples and see if you can guess what product they are advertising.
Elephant sitting on people’s chests and then following them around town.
Talking boxes.
Cars speeding and sliding. Breaking the law (saying nothing about all the new advantages that are now at the driver’s fingertips inside the car).
Lizards talking.
Swans dancing.
Ridiculous machines to enhance computer speed.
A girl in white saying and doing things that have nothing to do with the product.
What are we becoming? A nation that can’t handle the truth and advantages of modern technology?
