Amos letter: Wage increases

The unions want to put all of the service industry under their domination. They say a 75 percent wage increase is warranted. I say fine, but where is the 75 percent increase for those on Social Security, welfare recipients, veterans, disabled and the poor — are they not worthy of the increase also? Who is going to be affected by such an increase? Is it not the aforementioned? Where is the fairness of such an increase? After all, there is no inflation, according to the government formula, and so where is the justification for such a raise?
