Yount letter: Bowe Bergdahl
Enough already. As a former U.S. Army MP in the 1960s and a tour in Vietnam, I saw many soldiers go “over the hill,” or AWOL. Bowe Bergdahl simply chose the wrong place to do it, and paid for it with five years of his life. Give the man an Article 15 (reprimand) for being AWOL, let him keep his money and sergeant rank, VA benefits for injuries received, an honorable discharge, a commendation for having survived captivity under the nuttiest people on earth, and send him on his way. As for the five Taliban “commanders” traded for him, they’ll be drone targets soon enough.
