Pope letter: Maureen O’Hara
Early in my acting career, I was a bit-player in “Miracle on 34th Street.” The lovely Maureen O’Hara and I had a scene with Edmund Gwen about 10 minutes into the film. Although she was the star, she was congenial and friendly to everyone — and she was extremely beautiful.
The viewers on “34th Street” were unaware of the many actors participating in the parade. Hidden cameras were everywhere.
When she chose Boise to live, I applauded her, since I, too, have been happily retired here for almost 16 years.
Carmelita Pope, Boise
