I was very dismayed to see that the Idaho Statesman reporter neglected to include a favorite drive-in of mine, Burger Time on Orchard, in the report on local drive-ins. The food is great and the milkshakes are to die for. This drive-in is owned and run by a single mom who wants to have a great place for hot rods and classic cars to hang out, and every Saturday night during the summer there’s a band in the parking lot playing great oldies, and people can come and enjoy it for free, and lots of people do. She’s made her business a great part of her community, including having a Trunk or Treat event, completely free for kids in the neighborhood every year. The reason she got into the burger business was that she wanted to save one of the oldest drive-ins in Boise (it was originally the Beehive and then the Chow Now in the ’60s). It’s way too good for your reporter to have overlooked.
