Bergdahl’s choice

Mr. Bergdahl served in two branches of the military. Volunteering for both. Entering each he was given “classes” covering the UCMJ. Each told him that desertion was a capital offense. He deserted. I (a veteran of Vietnam) feel that any song and dance he presents in his defense is worthy only of Broadway, and his “case” should only be heard within the military.

“War is hell” and he volunteered. Allowing his cowardice in the face of the enemy to be treated as a misdemeanor is an assault on the values of those that have given their lives in service of their country.
