Simison

When I moved to Meridian a few years ago, I was impressed by my access to local leaders. I met Mayor Robert Simison when I joined the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, a program open for all high schoolers, soon after moving and found him to be personable, hardworking and, above all, dedicated to making Meridian a city for all. He was interested in my thoughts, listened to my concerns and followed up on several ideas generated from our conversations. Mayor Simison’s dedication to serving the youth is unparalleled, as he actively seeks youth engagement with commission opportunities, youth advisory council and more. This kind of access to the office of mayor is refreshing in Meridian, as I don’t have to have an important position or be a political donor to be heard. All in all, Mayor Simison’s commitment to youth like me has shown me his commitment to Meridian’s future, which is why I believe he is the perfect candidate for the city of Meridian.

Vote Mayor Simison on Nov. 7.

Manning

I am writing to express my strong support for incumbent Travis Manning in the upcoming Caldwell School Board election. Having closely followed the developments in our school district and the performance of its board members, I firmly believe that Travis Manning is the right choice to continue serving on the Caldwell School Board.

Travis brings a wealth of education and experience to the table. His dedication to improving our schools and commitment to providing a quality education for every student is evident through his track record of accomplishments during his time on the board.

One of the qualities that sets Travis apart is his balanced and moderate approach to governance. In a time when extreme viewpoints seem to dominate public discourse, Travis has consistently shown himself to be a rational, thoughtful leader.

It is also worth highlighting that Travis Manning is not swayed by baseless conspiracy theories or unfounded claims. In an era where misinformation can spread rapidly, having a school board member who relies on credible information and makes decisions based on facts is crucial.

I urge my fellow community members to cast their votes in support of Travis Manning for the Caldwell School Board.

Stead

I want to shout out a huge “thank you” to Meredith Stead for her continued support of our Boise community. For years she’s contributed her time and talents on the Planning and Zoning Commission for research and assessment into the questions that shape our city (as well as service in Leadership Boise, local arts and culture, and so much more). She is now using her skills and knowledge on our Boise City Council, and we need her land use experience now more than ever.

I am grateful when someone with the knowledge, learning curiosity, leadership skills, and commitment are willing to do this historically thankless task. I am particularly grateful when such service is genuine, and the candidate has a demonstrated history of community service and leadership contributions.

Meridian council

The new district elections for Meridian City Council have two incumbents in District 2 vying for the same seat. Liz Strader and Brad Hoaglun appear to agree on many issues, but one defining difference between the two is the fact that Liz Strader will not accept campaign donations from developers, while Hoaglun will. Rapid growth is one of the biggest issues facing Treasure Valley cities, and she does not want a developer’s donation to influence her vote on what is best for our community. As a district 2 constituent, this stance has earned her my vote.
