If you’ve ever looked into how state agencies spend your tax dollars, you probably found two things appalling. First, without filing quite a few public records requests, which takes a great deal of time and effort, checkbook type expense data just isn’t publicly available. Second, once you get the spending records, you’re going to see that agencies waste a lot of money on silly things like catering and questionable travel.
Fortunately, Raul Labrador released his plan to make government more transparent, and it includes provisions to make spending details for all state agencies available online. He also wants to make improvements to Idaho’s public records law, which I fully support.
I am supporting Raul Labrador for governor because he’s serious about holding government accountable to the people.
