On Dec. 23, my husband and I went to the newly spiffed up Oak Barrel restaurant in Eagle for a special anniversary dinner. We told our waiter, Josh, we were celebrating 56 years. When it was time to settle our bill, Josh and his manager came to our table and said the couple dining across from us, who had just left, had picked up our tab. The reason? They were celebrating their 55th and said, “we long-term marrieds have to take care of each other.” I cried. Our thanks to those two lovely people … we wish you many more.
