Kibble Letter: Tax Bill

Statesman banner headline: “Risch, Crapo contend tax cut will spur growth, not debt.” If these Idaho Republican senators believe tax cuts will spur growth, not debt, I have some Wilder oceanfront property I’ll sell them. Also, do they believe the Earth is flat? If this immoral, cruel tax bill passes, it will kill, maim and blind tens of thousands of innocent women and children. Because, it takes away their basic human right — health care. Yes, it will grow the wealth of the 1 percent and large corporations; raise debt by $1.5 trillion. There is no proof tax cuts will stimulate growth and increase salaries. Corporate America has broken a sacred covenant with American workers — when profits increase, everyone benefits — not just chief executives and shareholders. When, the working poor realize the GOP sold their lives — health care for “30 pieces of silver” — it will join the know-nothing and bull moose parties in the “dustbin of history.” President Lincoln: Government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.”
