Falk Letter: Gun regulation

In the last few weeks there have been two letters to the editor stating that trucks should not be manufactured because they have been used to kill people. They use this premise as a comparison to those people who want to regulate, not eliminate, guns. Their premise is weak in logic. Using their logic, just eliminate the rules and regulations from all trucks. This would mean no license plates, driver’s licenses, no testing of abilities and no tickets for speeding. Basically truck drivers would do as they want when driving a truck and conform to what most Republican politicians want, no laws or regs. After doing this, and using statistics, they could show that killing with trucks would be down and therefore, do the same for cars and other vehicles. Consequently, they could show the world the stupidity of regulating guns.
