Regarding the recent Statesman article “Survey shows strong community support for the F-35 mission at Gowen Field …”
I’ve attended several neighborhood meetings regarding the F-35 mission in Boise and I’ve heard just the opposite response. The vast majority of people at these meetings have been opposed to the excessive noise and potential negative impact on hearing and quality of life. The change from the A10s to the F-35s is dramatic.
We visited Salt Lake City in October 2017 and heard and felt the F-35 noise from the Nellis AFB. We were about three miles from the Air Force base and the noise was far worse and lasted much longer than what we’ve experienced with the A10s.
