Support a great cause this December. From Dec. 12-Dec. 31, the Home Partnership Foundation is putting on an event known as Avenues for Hope. This event features many worthy causes but one close to my heart I encourage all to check out is the Jesse Tree of Idaho. This organization since 2001 has been preventing homelessness in the community. Over 7,600 individuals, almost half children, have been able to receive rental assistance to stay housed, case management with a licensed social worker where they can address their barriers to housing and other needs. The organization recently expanded out into Canyon County last year and continues to expand its services in both counties. This year, Jesse Tree has helped almost 400 individuals and 150 households avoid homelessness and be able to return to self-sufficiency. This saves the household heartache and the fear of becoming homeless and the community thousands upon thousands of dollars that can be directed to other needs. I encourage you all to consider volunteering or donating to this great organization (http://www.jessetreeidaho.org/) or at their Avenues for Hope site (https://avenuesforhope.org/designee/the-jesse-tree-of-idaho).
