In the Oct. 25 board meeting of the Downtown Boise Neighborhood Association, the board unanimously voted to support the proposed Boise Sports Park.
This decision was reached after much discussion among the members, several of whom attended the recent open houses on the proposed stadium. We did our research. We talked to residents. We gave this much thought.
The overarching view of the board is that the stadium would simply add to the overall quality of life for the residents in Boise and the Treasure Valley. It will help to revitalize an area of downtown Boise that has not shared equally in the development or urban improvements that other areas have seen. We believe the project is prudently financed with primarily private funding and a relatively small amount of public investment.
We also like that residential buildings, offices, retail, a pedestrian foot bridge and other site improvements are all part of this proposal.
