Samson letter: Assault weapons

Once again automatic weapons destroy more American lives. What is wrong with our congressmen and senators to just give a moment of silence and not a speech asking for change? No more committees to investigate the issue of universal background checks for those buying guns and bans on assault rifles and bump stocks. Act instead.

We cannot be silent, we need to act now. If our Congressmen Simpson and Labrador and Senators Risch and Crapo cannot take the lead, then it is high time we remove them from office. Election time is coming and we need new folks who do not want to take your right to bear arms according to the Constitution, but do want to help keep our families safe from the mentally ill who have guns and the use of assault weapons that are intended for war. What are we waiting for? I guess the attitude is “it does not affect me.” But then again, maybe we fix it before it does affect you. Risch, Crapo, Simpson, Labrador – what have you got to lose to make this right? Universal background checks for those buying guns and bans on assault rifles and bump stocks. Act instead.
