Earlier this month my husband and I were in the checkout line at Winco starting to pay for our groceries. A pretty young woman behind me touched my shoulder with charge card in hand and said, “I’m paying for your groceries today.” Took me totally by surprise, didn’t know what to say. “Don’t say anything,” she said, “It’s done.” And it was. I did say, “Well, at least we can pay it forward.” “That’s the way it is supposed to work,” she answered. The cashier witnessed our transaction with his own smile, so we packed up the groceries and gave each other first names. Then with a smile we left the store.
Thank you pretty lady, for your kindness and we will find the best way for us to pass on your generosity.
