I had a lovely experience on Tuesday, Oct. 24, thanks to a very kind UPS delivery person named Michael. He delivered a box to Ahavath Beth Israel Synagogue, where I was volunteering at the front desk. I joked with him about whether he was bringing me a present as it was my birthday. In response, he said the box was not for me but then held out his hand and told me he had something for me if I put my hand under his. When I did so, he dropped what appears to be a brand-new silver dollar into my hand and wished me a happy birthday. I want to thank him profusely for being such a sensitive person and acknowledge how sometimes a small act of kindness can mean a lot to the one who receives it, particularly when it is unexpected. Thanks for making my day.
