Hall letter: NFL protests

Now that we are irritated by the disrespect shown by NFL players during the playing of the national anthem, the next time you are at an event where the anthem is played, check out your fellow Americans.

How many hats do you see? Who is talking? Anyone taking a selfie or on their phone? Who is walking in or out? Who is getting a drink or a hot dog?

If you see any of these actions, you are seeing disrespect for the anthem and the flag.

Here is what we should be doing: “... persons present should face the flag and stand at attention with their right hand over the heart, and men not in uniform, if applicable, should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.”

Before you cast stones make sure you are not disrespecting the flag yourself.
