Morris letter: Vaccinations

The young parents who think vaccinations are dangerous should see someone in an iron lung struggling to breathe or someone with their legs held up only by metal and leather braces. If you think vaccinations are dangerous, how would you respond to your child covered in the red, flaming, itching rash of measles? Ugly brown lesions and pustules all over your body, even in your mouth and genitals, chickenpox. Mumps are extremely dangerous besides looking horrible. I have experienced each of these diseases, with the exception of polio, thank God, and although I was very young, I remember each vividly. They are miserable. I did not want my children to suffer from them, or my grandchildren. By not vaccinating your child you may infect mine and open a dangerous door to these diseases of the past. These theories of vaccination dangers are rumors with little if no scientific proof. Be ever so thankful vaccinations are available.
