Gross letter: Speeding

We live in a senior community on the Bench. The streets in this subdivision have a posted speed limit of 20 mph and are populated by residents who are on walkers, have visual or hearing impairments, or other age-related infirmities. Every school day afternoon at around 3:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., students from Borah and Bishop Kelly high schools race with impunity down our streets at freeway speeds, despite repeated reports of this behavior to the Boise Police Department. It’s a matter of when, not if, a vehicular homicide occurs. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed in the BPD’s lack of enforcement.
