Ehrnstein letter: Donald Trump

I can’t remember any former president who told such outrageous lies, publicly humiliated his staff, tried to prosecute his rivals, threatened members of Congress, and publicly stated his intention to not fund a program because he did not like it. His recent disrespect of our judiciary and his pardon of a man who gleefully broke federal laws is disgusting. By entering into a contract with the Chinese government for a Trump hotel in Dubai, he personally profits financially from his office as president. What happened to the promise he made not to enter into contracts with foreign governments? Broken, of course. Dictators fill government positions with family members. Dictators hold public rallies to whip up the people. He plays on fears of his base pointing to innocents they can fault and blame. His base does not care that he lies.
