Kopelowitz letter: BSU football

Congratulations to the Broncos who found another way to win — knock the starting quarterbacks out of the game. It almost, but didn’t work against Washington State. Against New Mexico, it was a targeting hit by Chris Hatada against Lobos quarterback Lamar Jordan who struggled to get off the field from a probable concussion. Hatada was ejected, and as he was being escorted off the field, the Bronco fans applauded his hit. Good sportsmanship, Bronco Nation. He was replaced by a third string backup. Great win. Aside from that illegal hit, I turned off the game after the first half and watched the rest of the pro game instead because watching the Broncos offense is a total bore. I really miss Chris Petersen’s wide open, imaginative and exciting offense with trickery thrown in where needed. That’s why I now enjoy watching and rooting for Coach Pete’s Washington Huskies more than most other teams. They play like the Broncos did when Pete was their coach. I also notice the thousands of empty seats at Albertsons Stadium. It is no surprise that ticket sales keep dropping because of price increases and watching a mediocre boring team on the field.
