Detmer letter: Response to Lodal letter

In reply to John Lodal’s letter of Sept. 4: No one has separated Lodal from “individuals with differing political views” except himself. President Trump, whom I’m quite sure isn’t even aware of Lodal’s existence, is in no way responsible for anyone’s reaction. I suspect these same “individuals” did not cut off communication with Lodal during the Obama years, perhaps speaking to their level of maturity while shining a light on the lack of Lodal’s. I hear of families and friends who are at odds, even not speaking because of this election. This, along with the hate and violence emanating from the left was not created by President Trump, but did reveal that which already existed within. I don’t recall such behavior from those who opposed Obama. Lodal, and those pouting because you lost, turning away from friends and family only proves what sore losers they are, and the fact they are willing to sacrifice those close to them speaks volumes. I’m sure they got Lodal’s message without him having to deign to “search for the best way to reopen communication.” Sad.
